Make Your Own Luck

I’ve got a confession to make. I hate the saying “good luck”. Whenever someone tells me “good luck” I cringe. It almost makes me sick. I just don’t believe in luck.

What I do believe in is making luck, being in the right place at the right time by putting yourself out there and working hard without always expecting something in return. Want to meet certain people that could help you in your career? Find out where they are and spend lots of time there. Want to lose 20 pounds? Get on a diet. Want to start a business? Work hard, find people that have done it before you and don’t quit until you are successful.

You get what you put in. Luck is just life paying dividends. Some people get “lucky” because they are always putting in the work that is necessary to be successful in their endeavors. Those people have nothing that you don’t, they just understand that they are in control of their own destiny.

Fitness is no different. People don’t have six pack abs because they are lucky. They have six packs because they follow a nutrition plan and train hard, consistently. Sure some parts of fitness may come easier to others but everyone has their strength. If you always show up and work hard I guarantee you that you will accomplish your goals, learn a few things about yourself and maybe find a few strengths that you didn’t know you had.

So get out there and get to work. Don’t listen to people that tell you it can’t be done. Ignore negativity. If someone tries to discourage you just use it as fuel to prove them wrong. You are in control of your own luck!
